I keep listening to this Julian Casablancas song over and over at the bus stop. It has a lot of great tempo and mood changes and of course Julian’s voice is absolutely stellar. Don’t watch the video though…it literalizes the lyrics too much; the sections where he’s flirting with that girl in the bar in that hipster pirate outfit are pretty groovy. The stuff with the Thomas Jefferson look alike just doesn’t do it for me.
Still the songs got such a simple synth hook and then climbs with a great riff and a pleading tone of voice coupled with some pretty out-there-drifting-in-the-cosmos type of lyrics.
